I think that this video is the epitome of how India is commonly portrayed in the media. The producers of The Simpson's drew on every cliche symbol of India that they could. Often when a culture meets or interacts with a new culture they don't understand, they dwell on the differences viewed as strange, barbaric, or funny. It shows a lack of cultural understanding and is definitely a little bit racist.
